Safety & Moderation

Safety, by default.

Lana is built so that the safety choices a mom would want are already made — at the architecture level, not in a settings menu.

01Phone-verified moms only

Every account is tied to a verified mobile number. No anonymous accounts. No bots. The block feels trusted because the block is trusted.

02Nickname-default identity

Your real legal name is never shown to another user by default. Other moms see your nickname ("Marina M.") until you and another mom both check in at the same event in real life and both tap "we met."

03Anti-discrimination architecture

Lana never tells you who opted out of matching with you. If a mom filters her event to a specific identity tag, non-matching moms simply don't see the event — there is no rejection notification anywhere on Lana. We see this as structural anti-discrimination, not just a UX preference.

04Host accountability

Hosts (Mom Founders) agree to community guidelines. Repeated cancellations, no-shows, or harassment leads to suspension. We are not the organizer of any event — but we hold hosts to the standard they signed up to.

05Reporting + moderation SLAs

Critical reports (harassment, doxxing, illegal activity)4 hours
Standard community-guideline reports24 hours
Data access or deletion requests14 days (30-day legal limit)

Report any issue at hello@lana.help — the mailbox is monitored. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC).

06What Lana never does

  • No ads that use your real name, phone, precise location, or any tag you've marked private
  • No data resale — we monetize by serving relevant on-platform ads on the free tier, and via a premium ad-free tier; we never sell your data
  • No public profiles
  • No name reveal without your say-so
